In Nepali society, sex is considered to be a taboo word. Young people are not getting correct and proper information about their sexual health in such a socio-cultural context, neither from their family, school or community. Thus, peer/friends and media have become most popular source of information, which might not be the appropriate one in terms of correct and relevant knowledge.
As one of the initiative to bridge the gap, Story cycle and Y-PEER (Youth Peer Education Network) Nepal is jointly organizing this event which includes a storytelling and a talk sessions.
In the storytelling session, 3 shortlisted stories, related to HIV/AIDS and Sexual and reproductive health (SRH) will be showcased along with the talk show with experts and young people. Discussion sessions are;
Dr. Rajendra Bhadra- Art, Culture, Sculpture and Sex in Nepal
Mr. Bhumika Shrestha- Homosexuality (Gender and sexual minority)
Ms. Pooja Ghale - HIV related Stigma and discrimination and Youth
